Lots of things have been going on recently, which have been very exciting and productive!
A very good friend of mine, Asti, who also happens luckily enough to be a neighbour, has a great deal of creative talent and we have decided to join forces and try to make our way doing the things we love. Hence, the new name, Vintage Mamas, as we both have our beautiful babies and both love nostalgia and aspire to vintage values! What do you think? Does the name fit the product or does it make you think more of children's clothing? We love the name, but are still not totally decided. We'd love to hear your opinion..
We both adore the same sort of things, and both have a love of knitting, crochet and sewing, oh and of course serious thrifting! So it has the makings of a great partnership. Asti is also a great photographer, which will prove very useful for the blog as I am limited in that department. We've had a lot of fun experimenting with new and old fabrics, mixing and matching
Pin cushions and tea cosies
and seeing how far we could push it!
I love this Tom & Jerry fabric which I thrifted recently. I was a bit scared to use it but I'm pleased with the results!
We've also been trying out children's aprons with vintage fabrics, buttons and embellisments.
We found that after a glass of wine, cutting into the gorgeous fabric wasn't as heartbreaking!
And we ended up with a basket full of goodies!
And after all that hard work, it sure is good to have someone to share a wee dram with at 2.30 in the morning!
