Rainy Days and Mondays

Dscn5839

Well Monday was one hell of a wet day in Devon so we set about tidying up the studio, after a run of rabbits and other bits and bobs everything was out of place and my children like nothing better than a day of 'sorting out'.

So when we could see the floor, we thought a treat was in order, so out came the guest sewing machine...

and we started another wonderful tutorial from Molly Chicken.

the kids had a great time choosing wools and colours etc..  However like all 'great times' they only last so long... and it wasn't too long before arguing over the who had the scissors next and who was going to stuff their mouse before the other.  Management of three eager and frustrated children is no easy task.  When it reached fever pitch and too many people had been stabbed with pins and James had just cut a chunk off the back of Lauren's hair we called it a day.  (And yes, after the huge chunk of hair fell to the floor  MollyChicken's suggestion of 'sewing their little mouths up' was becoming ever more reasonable!  However, several Neurofen and a full strength coffee with sugar later, we all managed to jolly ourselves round and finish the little blighters...

They were so proud of them it made all the screaming worthwhile!  From the left introducing Bigzed (?!), Squeakus, and Lavender.  Thank you Lyn for a 'lovely' afternoon!

Stepping Up to Smell The Roses

Dscn5802

Because of the little peek of sunshine we have been having just lately, Charlotte suggested picking these beautiful blooming roses, planted in memory of my beautiful mum, and bringing their sunshine indoors.

Dscn5806

The rose is called 'Lovely Lady' and she was, the most lovely lady in the world, who we lost 3 years ago.  The roses  have lasted all week, and are just starting to fade, but their scent is still wonderful.

Charlotte loves sitting up high, and pretending to be shy.

Dscn5812

.... but Victoria is having none of it.

Dscn5813

Victoria is the shy one, mainly because at the moment she is lacking a dress... oh.. and a home.  Charlotte will be heading off from Devon in the morning, to pastures new, leaving Victoria to hold the fort...and hopefully gain a new dress, a few more frills and a little more confidence.

Have a great weekend xx
