We decided to avoid the hustle and bustle of town on Saturday, and opted for the more spirit lifting experience of shopping at a local farm.
Waye Barton farm lies astride the A381, about 4 miles from Totnes, and has been farmed by the Harris family since 1955.
The farm consists of 242 acres of land, where they grow vegetables for the shop and crops for the animals. They rear South Devon cattle and Dorset sheep, pigs and chickens.
The children love it here, and luckily for us some new baby lambs were busy bouncing around in one of the fields.
How cute is he?
And then there's the shop. Ohhh... the shop.
Its just up this driveway....
a little past this lovely view...
oh, and past the chickens... can you spot through the tree?
Here we are... now what do you need......
swede, carrots, potatoes, brocolli, onions, kale, cabbage.....
or any handmade conserves and chutneys, stews, curries, lasagnes or pies and puddings handmade by Lesley or local ice-cream, cheese and yogurt. Oh .. and handmade bread too.
They also sell the meat from the farm in packs for your freezer so you can stock up for the month ahead. And speaking of the month ahead... they do a special Christmas pack, with all your vegetables and Turkey ready for you to collect on Christmas Eve.
I think I'll give the supermarket a miss this year....
If you live anywhere nearby, be sure to go in and have a look, you are sure to get a lovely welcome.
And then we stopped off a another local store, Fermoys, along the same road.... who just happened to be having a Christmas Market... and joy of all joys look what we stumbled upon. I nearly had an incident when I walked into this cabin.
TOO MUCH GOODNESS.... it made me feel giddy! Local girls grab your purses and get down there... I think I shall have to return at least four or five times just to make sure I've seen everything!
Have a good week everyone x

Looks like a fantastic day. Who needs supermarkets when you've got such a fab farmshop nearby. The Christmas market looks amazing, and very tempting, too.
