Phew. Last week was hectic. Lots of celebrations to be done.
This was the first adventure for my husband on his turning 40 - an afternoon trip to Bovey Castle - a romantic moorland manor house in the heart of Dartmoor National Park.
The weather and the views on the way were glorious..
and the sense of grandeur when we arrived was tangible... this is where Chris Martin from Coldplay and got married to Gwyneth Paltrow.
The building was absolutely beautiful, overlooking stunning Edwardian grounds, an 18 hole golf course and the river Bovey.
Inside, although it was hot outside, the fire was lit inside as the rooms was enormous. And this is where we sat, for several hours, enjoying an amazing afternoon tea of sandwiches, scones, cakes ... more cakes and as many cups of tea as we could manage... blissful :))
A truly memorable afternoon!
