I love my evening TV free, immersed in my crafts. The children get one film a week, and yanno they don't notice the lack of tv at all.
You have beautiful scenery around you, i miss the country sooooo much.

Lovely pictures, we had a walk in the country too yesterday, wasn't it a beautiful day?. Blows away the cobwebs. I'm with you on the time-wasting thing, too many evenings this month I've sat in front of rubbish tv in a stupor and then wished I'd got my crochet out or did some embroidery. It's so easy to waste away any spare time and I realise I have to take little steps to make the most of my precious evenings and weekends. A very thought-provoking post, thank you.

very intersting experiment- I shall be reading the results with interest. I decided a while ago that mindless Tv was sapping my strength and enthusiasm, so I stopped watching it... and discovered blogs instead...mmm? Anyway, we have very strict 'screentime' rules for the boys, but completely ignore them ourselves.
Thankyou for the reminder.

Doesn't a bit of sunshine lift the spirits? So many of us seem to feel the same about the fast pace of life, I think blogging is a great way to record the small, everyday, important things.x

Love that last shot...good luck with the experiment ! I wish Maddie WOULD watch telly for more than 3 mins at a time ;) Lily is a different matter altogether though !

I think the TV thing is such a great idea and something I should definitely try myself. Like you I often find myself sitting exhausted infront of the TV not able to move and thinking about all the creative stuff I should be getting on with. The problem I have is that because I live alone I often turn it on just to have some sound in the flat and virtual company. Not that I mind being alone, it's just that it's nice to hear something other than silence. What I should try to do is put the radio on instead so that I could get on with being creative in the evenings. I will be really interested to know how you get on this week. I saw about two minutes of Vivienne Westwood and had to switch off as I find her to cringingly weird I'm afraid!

I would like to suggest that excellent idea to my dear hubby!!He wouldn't just be mortified..he would move out ;-)
I'd like to try it though....(but not this week as Torquay United are on tv tomorrow..so after that ,maybe!!)Sal;-)

I think the internet does the same thing. I spent every spare moment looking at holidays last week, and got very little done. I am going to be more strict with myself. A bit of blogging but that's it!

Good luck Nicky!
I agree with what you are doing - I'm not a big telly fan, (there are far too many 'dumbing-down' programmes!) but the PC seems to rule my life. I had promised myself less time on the computer this year - there are far more important things to be doing in this big wide world....
Have fun with your children - they grow up all too quickly!
Have a great week and enjoy this lovely sunshine!

Sorry about that Nicky! I've worked out why my comments always get repeated......if I press the 'back' icon after leaving my comment, to get back to my own blog, it prints the entire comment again - weird!
I'll try to avoid doing it next time!
Have a great week!

Dear Nicky
I commend you for being a TV free zone!! I would love to follow your example but there would be a riot in my household if I did..
'What .. No Top Gear' would be the cry!
Love your walk.. wish I could drag my reluctant 13 year old out more often.. he hates the idea but loves the reality of it.
Was that Fingles Bridge I see?? Another corner of paradise..

Love
Michelexx
