Apologies for the rather late post today, but I have been finishing off my pottering in my studio. I had been thinking 'flowery wallpaper' to update the chimney breast, I felt I needed a change, but then a flash of inspiration (together with a look in my empty purse :0 ) came to me, whilst I was 'drowning' in my collection of Country Living and Country Homes magazines over the weekend.
I took a rather large deep breath, and started to rip the pages.... (I know... its unthinkable) but... my thinking behind it was, I'd rather actually see all the gorgeousness everyday, than have it hide away in my stash of magazines... so armed with a hefty supply of blu-tac - up went the collage.
All my favourite pictures... right before my eyes!
some favourite photos and postcards...
My mum... my inspiration.
Some vintage poms poms that were given to me and I could never part with... (thanks Helen!)
and some beautiful vintage buttons, cards and postcards... anything that I love has gone on that wall..
And the best thing about it is I can change it as and when I like, and add things bit by bit, as it takes my fancy!
Mind you, the downside is that whilst spending several hours (ahem) rooting through hundreds of torn out pages scattered across the floor, the interest of other family members swiftly diminished, and all sorts of trickery was used to distract me from the job in hand...
I think we are all glad (some more than others) that its finally finished.
Its brightened up the room and my mood no end!!
So come on girls... start ripping those pages - once you start its addictive !!
Have a great week xx

This clip wall is awesome !! Really truly. I too worked this weekend on arraigning and cleaning my space. I head gotten it in such a mess by stuffing everything anywhere in such a mixed up order that I kept having to buy new stuff because I could not find anything I needed. Now I think with the clean space I have saved myself tons. Your Pup is way too cute and the Illustrations !!! You lucky Girl!!!

An inspiration wall! How cool is that? Reminds me of when I was a teen and covered my walls in fashion magazine pages. The grown up version is so much better! I'm envious of your work space as well! One day, when the kids move out.......finally gonna get that sewing room! sigh! too bad I've still got years to go! LOL Thanks for sharing!

'These are a few of my Favourite Things' sums it up perfectly. Everyone should embrace and display their favourite things although Whiskers on Kittens is the recurring line of the song I remember. Fantastic idea to display them and a very brave move to rip out pages, well done, it looks great and hopefully has inspired others to do the same.
