Yep, the first smattering of snow and the school shuts it gates.... Hoorah!!
We waited and waited on Wednesday morning, ears pressed to the radio listening to the growing list of schools that were closing, but alas ... ours was not mentioned...
Slowly but surely we had breakfast, in between pressing our noses to the window watching the snow fall heavier and heavier...
And just as I was about to tell them they had to get dressed .... the radio came up trumps! Our school was on the list and I think the cheers and laughter could be heard a couple of streets away!!
Off to the park we went...
some of us a little confused but happy none the less!
a winter wonderland... well as close as we get as Devon isn't often blessed with the white stuff.
so beautiful
which makes it all the more exciting when it comes!
although perhaps not as weather-hardy... someone got very cold, very quickly....
so it wasn't too long before we were back home in the warm with hot chocolates...
for one and all!!
Enjoy the weather everyone, and have a great weekend.

You could send your kids up here - I'm looking out at 20inches of snow in the garden! We have had snow since the 17th of December, so we are just a little bit weary of it now .....

We have had lots of snow in Felixstowe, and we usually miss out so we are happy :) i don't get snow days though, i walk to work and serve hot chocolates to families who come and park their sledges in the corner. :)

You look like you got about the same amnount of snow that we did and we had school cancelled Thursday and Friday. Our day was spent similar to yours and ended with hot chocolate. It was beautiful (the snow) and cold!!!

Enjoy! We've had 15-20 minus for about two weeks and that's not very common here, although we often have snow. It's nice to stay inside with a cup of tea, but today I'll have a walk, it's only 13 minus now... Have a nice weekend!
