Yesterday was a very sad day for us. We lost a very dear old friend. Trafford had been with us for 14 years, in times before the children, which now seems unthinkable. Through all the births and additions to our family and through our losses too.
A solid, dependable friend who adored me more than I deserved, always.
It seems so strange that this time last week we were celebrating new life in the house, and now we are feeling the pain of a great loss.
Wishes by Kristen Sharer
in words you'd understand,
We wanted you to stay with us.
This wasn't what we'd planned.
We wish somehow to tell you,
How empty we now feel.
A part of us went with you,
A part that time can't heal.
We wish we'd once more hear you,
in your softly, rumbling purr,
to hold you on our laps again
and stroke your softest fur.
We wish we had you back again,
to fill this empty space.
But one day we'll be together
in a far, far better place.
xx
I'm so sorry for your loss. Our dear cat Jake is 17 and I'm trying to prepare myself for his time. The poem you posted is so sweet. Hang in there...

I am so,so sorry.I know a bit of how you are feeling.
We lost our first retriever at 16yrs....she had to be put to sleep. She had shared our life from the beginning of our marriage and was our loyal and devoted four legged best friend, the sweetest dog who ever walked this earth.I'm sure Trafford knew how very much he was loved.
Talk about all the happy times you had together... he will be forever in your hearts.
My thoughts are with you and your family at this sad time.

So very sorry for your loss. To think you won't see those beautiful, sensitive eyes looking back at you anymore must be unbearable.
Cats hold such a special place in our lives, their independence is wonderful and that they choose to stay with us magical.
Take care.

Ohh, comme cette nouvelle est triste ! Surtout après la naissance des petits chiots :-((
On s'attache tellement à nos animaux familiers (pets) Ils font vraiment partie de la famille.

So sorry to hear about your loss. I know the emptyness your are feeling. Two years ago this past weekend I lost my Norfolk Terrier -- Molly. I true love. The days will get better and Trafford will hold a loving place in your heart forever.

I'm so sorry for your loss. That poem + your post made me cry. To some people pets are just pets. But they are not, they are family. Take care ...

Isn't life strange as one door opens another closes. Puppies arrive and dearest cat friend departs. I hope you are all comforted by such happy memories

I am so sorry and saddened to hear this! I just lost my sweet kitty a month ago, he was 5.5 yrs. I am still so sad with the loss, but knowing he is in a better place waiting for me is of comfort. What a beautiful poem too. I think I will print it out for my photo album of my kitty.

I am so sorry for your loss. We have a dear kitty dying of cancer and I am not looking forward to losing him...Be thankful for the long, loving life you had together-you were both lucky to have eachother! Find joy in the new pups, and you'll always remember your good friend.
