Last Friday I was treated to a wonderful day out with a lovely friend - the owner of this girl pictured... the one with the lashes - Daisy the campervan, and very hospitable she was too!

As we were both strapped for cash, we traded in a day at the market spending money we didn't have for a day out with Daisy. We packed our sandwiches, regardless of the weatherforecast, and set off at full pelt down the most beautiful country lanes.

And the sun had decided to come with us!

On our way we passed this lovely flower stall, set up just outside someone's house...

And it wasn't long before we reached our destination. Staverton Old Steam Railway Station - which has been there since the 1860's.
We parked up in the car park and set to making the first brew of the day the little cooker inside the van.

And then spent the rest of the day brewing up tea, chatting, laughing and putting the world to rights!

Oh, and waving as the steam train puffed past every hour!
In between the showers and sunshine, we took a walk around the station ...

which was full of memorabilia of a bygone age.

Its mainly run by volunteers now, mainly men - who looked only too happy to sitting drinking tea and driving trains or watching trains go by! Good to see people so happy in their jobs!
A truly wonderful day spent with a truly wonderful friend.
Who needs money when you have friends like that!
Have a great week everyone xx
